The Department of English was created in 1893 after splitting from the Department of History. Today the department is responsible for the University's undergraduate and graduate curricula in English.

The records of the Department of English contains annual reports, correspondence, memorandums, meeting minutes, newsletters, pamphlets, posters, publications, and an archive of the department's website which document the activities of the department from 1899-2018.

The Equal Rights Amendment was first introduced by the National Women's Party in 1923 in order to remove all support for legal discrimination on the basis of sex.

The materials in this collection focus on the Equal Rights Amendment in North Carolina, providing an analysis of the ratification process in depth. There are 67 taped interviews with both opponents and proponents of ERA, thirty of which have been transcribed.

Don Etherington (1935- ), is known internationally for his work in the field of book and paper conservation and bookbinding. The collection contains the personal and professional materials of Etherington's career as conservator, instructor, administrator, consultant, and bookbinder.

This collection contains the annual financial reports published by the UNCG Excellence Foundation as well as the Executive Committee and Board of Directors meeting minutes.

The Office of Facilities Design/Construction is responsible for managing improvement projects on campus, while focusing on the financial and temporal constraints of construction projects. This collection contains plans, letters, reports, annual reports, and monthly newsletters and project files.

The Faculty Committee on the University Budget was formed in December of 1981. A recommendation to constitute such a committee was made to the Chancellor in the spring of 1981 by the Planning Council upon the request of the Budgetary Task Force.

The Faculty Council has been extant at UNCG since its beginning, and was the main legislative body for the faculty. In 1991, because of a change in faculty governance, the Faculty Council was abolished and the General Faculty was created to take its place. The collection of the UNCG Faculty Council is comprised of 3 boxes of materials, and is almost entirely composed of minutes and agendas from Faculty Council meetings.

This collection contains the minutes and associated papers of the Faculty Science Club from 1921-1955. The Faculty Science Club (previously the Scientific Club) was open to faculty and staff whose teaching or other professional duties fell into the areas of pure and applied science and mathematics.

Alice Park Fairbrother of Raleigh, North Carolina, served as a physical therapist in the United States Army Medical Specialist Corps from 1965 till 1968.

This Collection includes 1 April 2008 oral history transcript; United States Army Physical Therapy Class # 1, August 1966; photograph of plaque with "Outstanding Graduate 2LT Alice H. Park Physical Therapy Course Medical Field Service School 1966" on the inscription plate.

Jean Farley (1928-1974) was a poet and a 1950 alumna of Woman's College (now UNCG).

This collection includes draft copies of Farley's book of poems, Figure and Field, and a number of additional poems.

Sue Ramsey Johnston Ferguson (1897-1977) was an alumna of Woman's College (now UNCG) and an educational and political leader in the Democratic Party of North Carolina.

The Sue Ramsey Johnston Ferguson Papers date from 1945 to 1947 and contain correspondence and clippings.

The Ferguson records include those papers created during the months that he was acting chancellor as well as those years as chancellor. There are also a few papers from the time that he was Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Chancellor.

The Department of Finance of the Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics was founded in 1985. It was responsible for the University's undergraduate and graduate curricula in finance.

The records of the Department of Finance contains annual reports and general files which document the activities of the Department of Finance from 1985-1995.

The Grants and Contracts Office, a faction of the Research and Economic Development Office, provides information on grants, particularly those of governmental agencies, as well as reviews proposals involving external funding. This collection contains the monthly newsletters of the office, dating from 1976-1983.

The collection includes an oral history transcript, 22 March 1999; various photographs of Finger's Navy WAVES service, 1942-1944; a book, USS Tulagi (GVE-72), 1943-1946; cartoon print; various WAVES song sheets, undated; a company newsletter from Vick's Chemical Company, Vol. VI, No. 1, 1 July 1943; a cap device; 10 military patches; a plain gold ensign collar device; cap device on blue wool; a small plastic box containing label for Edward Legum Furniture Co.; a Navy wool cap.

This collection contains 5 genealogical books of Fisher family records and a related CD.

Francine Fisher (b. 1951), of Washington, D.C., served in the United States National Guard and the United States Army from 1977 to 1983. She was enlisted in the United States Army Reserves until 1987.

Ruth St. Denis (1880-1968) was one of the founders of the Denishawn School of Dance; Howle Fisher was a former member of the Denishawn Dancers. This collection dates from 1924 to 1933 and contains notation and choreography for performing dances of the Denishawn School.

Gladys Andrews Fleming was a professor of physical education and a leader in the field of movement education. The Gladys Andrews Fleming Papers date from 1939 to 1983 and contain conference and workshop materials, correspondence, publications, educational documents, biographical materials, honors and awards.

Paula G. Flores (b.1968), of New York, served in the United States Air Force from 1988-2008.

This collection includes brochures; newsletters; rosters; newspaper clippings; correspondence; notes; lists and meeting records 1988-1993; scrapbooks 1987, 1988, and 1989 and photographs 1987,1992-94.

This collection contains correspondence from Linda Flowers to U.T. and Joe Summers. Dr. Flowers met the Summers family during her time as a student at the University of Rochester. She was a student of Dr. Summers and eventually rented a room in U.T. and Joe Summers' house. Also included is biographical material.

Ina B. Forbus was a Scottish immigrant, UNC alumna, and author, who set many of her stories at a converted grist mill in North Carolina where she and her husband summered. This collection contains the rough draft and setting copy for Forbus' novel Melissa.
