Audrey Ann Fisher (b. 1926), of Portland, Oregon, and Spokane, Washington, served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) and the United States Army from 1949 to 1976.

Audrey Ann Fisher was born in 1926 and grew up in Portland, Oregon, and Spokane, Washington. She graduated from high school in 1943 and spent five and a half years working for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company.

In February 1949, Fisher enlisted in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) for a three-year tour of duty. She completed basic training and clerk typist school at Fort Lee, Virginia, and then became an instructor there. She was briefly relocated to Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky, with the clerk typist school, but was then assigned to recruiting in Pennsylvania. Fisher attended Officer Candidate School in 1952 and was then sent to Camp Stoneman, California, until it was closed, at which point she was given command of a WAC detachment at Oakland Army Base, California.

In 1954, Fisher became platoon officer of a basic training company at the WAC Training Center at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She then worked in the adjutant general's office at Fort Benning, Georgia. When her half-sister died unexpectedly, Fisher received a compassionate transfer to Fort Lawton, Washington, where she supervised the officers' club." After a year and a half at Fort Lawton, Fisher volunteered for overseas duty and was stationed in Yongsan, Korea, for about fifteen months doing administrative work at the Seoul Area Command.

In 1961, she returned to the United States and went to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, as commanding officer of WAC Company C. Then in 1963, after a six-month career course at McClellan Air Force Base, she went to Fort Riley, Kansas, to work in personnel. Fisher had taken college courses whenever possible during her military career, and from the fall of 1964 until 1965, Fisher finished her bachelor's degree in history at Park College in Missouri. Fisher was next briefly assigned to the adjutant general's office in San Antonio, Texas, but in 1966 volunteered for and was sent to Vietnam. She returned after one year in Southeast Asia to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, for more training.

In May 1967, she was assigned to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel at the Pentagon. Fisher returned to the WAC training battalion at Fort McClellan in 1970 and then attended the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She retired from Training and Doctrine Command at Fort Monroe, Virginia, in 1976. Fisher lived with her partner, Dorothy Rechel, in Virginia and in Cincinnati, Ohio, until they moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina, in the mid-1990s.
