1949 Women in the Air Force (WAF) Photograph Album

Abstract

This photograph album documents the early days of the Women in the Air Force Program including some of the earliest African American WAF. The photographs mostly document the trainees in San Antonio, Texas and Lackland Air Force Base and shows the women working and training around the base. There are also photographs of the women during their free time enjoying activities on and off base including trips to the Alamo, Riverwalk, and the Continental Divide.

Academic Computer Center Records

The Academic Computer Center was formed in 1973 after dividing from the Administrative Computer Center, to provide computing service for instruction and research activities for UNCG students and faculty. The Adelphian Literary Society was one of two original literary societies founded in 1893. In 1953 the Societies were formally disbanded with the approval of the presidents.
