19th and 20th Century Diary Collection
A collection of diaries from the 19th and 20th centuries divided into three series (Juvenile, Travel, and Women). Diaries relate to personal lives of individuals and families of various backgrounds and represent a majority of regions in the US except the South.
1949 Women in the Air Force (WAF) Photograph Album
This photograph album documents the early days of the Women in the Air Force Program including some of the earliest African American WAF. The photographs mostly document the trainees in San Antonio, Texas and Lackland Air Force Base and shows the women working and training around the base. There are also photographs of the women during their free time enjoying activities on and off base including trips to the Alamo, Riverwalk, and the Continental Divide.

Academic Computer Center Records
The Academic Computer Center was formed in 1973 after dividing from the Administrative Computer Center, to provide computing service for instruction and research activities for UNCG students and faculty. The center joined back with the Administrative Computer Center in 1990 becoming Computing and Information Systems. The center ceased in 1999. Currently, Information Technology Services handles computing services.
Academic Cabinet and Faculty Senate Records
The Academic Cabinet was the major body of the Faculty Council, and was responsible for advising the Chancellor about academic policies, evaluating committees, and a whole host of things. The collection of the Academic Cabinet is comprised of 27 boxes of materials, ranging in date from 1974-2015, and reflects the variety of their duties.
Department of Accounting Records
The Department of Accounting of the Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics was founded in 1972. It is responsible for the University's undergraduate and graduate curricula in accounting.
The records of the Department of Accounting contain correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, committee files, annual reports, and handbooks documenting the activities of the Department of Accounting from 1975 to 2003.
University Libraries Department of Acquisitions Records
This collection contains staff meeting minutes for the University Libraires' Department of Acquisitions from 2001-2008.
Lillian M. "Jerry" Evans Adams Collection
Lillian M. "Jerry" Evans Adams (1907-2000) was a trumpeter for several all-girl jazz bands during the mid-1920s through the mid-1930s. The collection contains photographs, a VHS videotape, and a trumpet.
Clara Adams-Ender Collection
The collection includes an oral history transcript, 10 September 2005; various photographs of her Army Nurse Corps service, 1964-1995.

Juliette Adams Papers
This collection contains articles and books written by Mrs. Crosby Adams (Juliette Adams); scrapbooks of her teaching studio happenings, other musical happenings, and programs from the recitals of her students; published articles about Adams; and one folder of correspondence. Several of her scrapbooks contain her handwritten description of events, classes, and class participants.
Robert Neal Adams Papers
Robert Neal Adams was a news photographer in Washington, DC, during the 1930s and 1940s.
This collection contains mainly black and white photographs of such notable personages as the Roosevelts, Herbert Hoover, and Winston Churchill.

This collection contains addresses and speeches given that are related to UNCG and the UNC System. It includes programs of chancellor installations.
Adelphian Literary Society Records
The Adelphian Literary Society was one of two original literary societies founded in 1893. In 1953 the Societies were formally disbanded with the approval of the presidents. This collection consists of four bound volumes containing the Adelphian Literary Society's constitution, membership roll, and meeting minutes from 1893 until 1923.
Administrative Computer Center Records
The Administrative Computer Center was formed in 1967 to provide computing service for UNCG campus and later in 1973 to provide information to the administrative offices. The office ceased in 1999. Currently, Information Technology Services handles computing services.

African American and African Diaspora Studies Program Records
This collection contains brochures, course listings, event flyers, newsletters and other records related to the African American and African Diaspora Studies Program at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Also included are event programs from the Conference on African-American Culture and Experience (CACE), sponsored yearly by the program.
African Student Union Records
The African Student Union (ASU) was founded at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. This collection contains brochures, newspaper clippings, event recordings, promotional event flyers, and other records that document the work of the ASU.

Emily Alford was an Elementary Physical Education Specialist; this film shows her performing movement education (gymnastics) with 5th graders in the late 1960s.
William Alfred Letter
William Alfred (1922-1999) was a playwright, poet and beloved Harvard professor specializing in early English literature.
This letter is from Alfred in London to the poet Robert Lowell and his wife, on the occasion of the birth of their child.

The collection includes an oral history transcript, 12 April 1999; various photographs of Allegrone's Navy WAVES service, 1943-1945.
Nettie Marvin Allen Collection
Nettie Marvin Allen of Henderson, North Carolina, attended the State Normal and Industrial School (now UNCG) from 1892-1895.
The collection contains her Physics notes from the academic year 1894-1895 and her Laboratory Manual of General Chemistry from 1893. Her scrapbook, entitled Among My Souvenirs, contains programs, photographs and autographs and comments from people she met through 1938.

Olive Allen was a student of the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College, graduating in 1903.

Steve Almond Papers
Steve Almond (1967- ) received his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from UNCG in 1997. Almond is the winner of the 2002 Pushcart Prize and the 2005 Alex Award (Young Adult Library Service Association). This collection includes manuscripts of Almond's published short stories, essays, and monographs, as well as several unpublished works.
Alumnae/Alumni News
UNCG has published alumni magazines since January 1912. This collection contains Alumnae News (1912-1964) and Alumni News (1964-1998) which document activities of the campus and alumni.

Ann Holder Andavall Collection
Ann Holder Andavall (b. 1921), of Ashland, Oregon, served in the United States Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service) as an aerial gunnery instructor during World War II.

Nicholas Anderson Musical Score and Personal Papers Collection

The Nicholas Anderson Sheet Music and Personal Papers Collection reflects his career as a cellist, begining with his early studies with Leslie Parnas and Irving Klein, and including materials related to his career as a solist and working with the New York Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
