Anderton (1918-2011) of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, served in the United States Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) from July 1943 until July 1946 and was a faculty member of the Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) from 1948 to 1986.

The collection includes 6 photographs, 2 letters to Anderton's mother, and an oral history transcript.
