Biographical / Historical
Tavia I. Brightwell (b. 1985) served as an aviation maintenance clerk in the United States Marine Corps from 2006-2010 and then joined the Marine Reserves in 2010. Tavia I. Brightwell (b. 1985), of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, served as an aviation maintenance clerk in the United States Marine Corps from 2006-2010. Her first deployment was to Iraq in 2008. In 2010 Brightwell was assigned to the United StatesS Mesa Verde which deployed to 7 different ports worldwide including a humanitarian mission in Haiti. In October 2010 she left active duty and in December 2010 joined the Marine Reserves.

The collection includes an oral history transcript, various photographs, and a copy of GI Jobs paperwork.
