Valentine de Lamartine Letter
Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869) was a French Romantic poet. The letter in this collection is written in French by Lamartine's niece, Valentine, and appears to be a lament about the sale of her uncle's property and perhaps the settlement of his estate.

Adeline Sears LaPlante Collection
Adeline Sears LaPlante (1919-2006) of Easton, Pennsylvania, served as a recruiter and as a public relations officer in the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) and the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1942-1945.
This collection includes letters, postcards and Christmas cards from LaPlante to her parents about her career in the WAAC and the WAC from 1943-1944. The collection also contains a photograph album, and news clippings from LaPlante's time in the service.

Richard Le Gallienne (1866-1942) was an English poet, critic and essayist. This letter, written in Paris on 10 July 1930, is addressed to "Mr. Knoll," a young admirer of Le Gallienne's works, particularly his "lines on war."

Alice Doretta Lentz Letters
This collection consists of twenty-two personal letters written by Lentz to her family that describe her life as a nurse, which included receiving vaccinations and watching as German prisoners of war arrived at her base. The letters also discuss news regarding her friends and her patients.

Pearl Harbor Letter
Three page letter typewritten dated December 13, 1941 from Honolulu signed by Ella that describes the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor. She worked at the hospital as a nurse on the base and watched the enemy planes fly "directly over the Hospital, then turn and some bombs fell about a half block from here." She then describes the scene left behind and says there is lots to do and though things do not look good on the island it is not going to get her down.

Gayle Offenbacher Lewis Collection
Gail Offenbacher Lewis (b. 1947), of Jacksonville, Oregon, served as an officer in the the United States Navy Nurse Corps and Navy Reserve from 1966 to 1994. Her service spanned the periods of The Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
The collection includes a 2008 December 22 oral history transcript and a CD with digitized photographs of Lewis during service with the Navy from 1968 to 1991.
