Lettie Hamlett Rogers Papers
Lettie Hamlett Rogers (1917-1957), the child of missionaries, spent her girlhood in China and Japan, before attending Woman's College (now UNCG), where she later became a professor of creative writing. She published four novels in her lifetime.
The Lettie Hamlett Rogers Papers date from 1940 to 1957 and contain typed manuscripts of her works.

Buren Rose (1919-2018) of Jefferson City, Missouri, served in the United States civil service at the San Antonio Aviation Cadet Center (now Lackland Air Force Base) where she was the driver for Colonel Morris Taber from 1942 to 1943.

The Rotary Club of Greensboro was founded in January 1917, making it one of the earliest Rotary Clubs to be formed after the creation of the first Rotary Club in 1902. The Club has grown from its first 42 members to include over 300 business professionals in the Greensboro area.

Louise E. Roy Scrapbook
Louise E. Roy’s scrapbooks document her time with the American Red Cross Supplemental Recreational Activities Overseas (SRAO) from 1942-1945. The photographs depict images from Hawaii, Guam, and San Francisco showing landscapes, wildlife, colleagues, and military vehicles. Also included are maps, postcards, and news articles.

Edith Russell was a student of the State Normal and Industrial College, graduating in 1919 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Russell and her husband, Herschel R. Harrington, founded Harrington-Russell Studios in 1930.

The Florence Rutherford Scrapbook consists of materials dating from 1925 to 1927. Among its contents are photographs, event programs, tickets, invitations, permission cards, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and party memorabilia.
Lola H. Ryan Letters

Ryan discusses her experiences of being a nurse in basic training, the conditions in wartime France, German prisoners of war, her experiences as a wartime nurse, and her longing to return home and be discharged from the army.

Caroline Schoch Postcard Collection
Caroline Schoch was born on November 19, 1880 in Iowa. She was a Professor and Head of the German Department at Women’s College (University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Miss Schoch taught German language, literature, art, music, and drama from 1918 to 1949. She died on August 12, 1961 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The School of Human Environmental Sciences was created in 1987, with Home Economics being at UNCG since 1892. In 2011 it was merged with several other departments and programs to become the School of Health and Human Sciences. The department is now defunct.
This collection contains audio cassettes, VHS tapes, correspondence, newsletters, committee minutes, reports, memorandums, and publications related to a variety of topics dating from 1946-2011.
