Mabel Pugh (1891-1986) was an artist and a teacher of art and art history. The Mabel Pugh Papers date from 1988 to 1999 and include a biographical sketch, a print entitled The City, a postcard of The Floral Map of North Carolina, and a letter.

Dr. David E. Purpel was an educator, administrator, and scholar at the The University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1972-2009.

The collection includes two binders of various course materials related to the military's racial sensitivity training. These materials are items such as 110 military publications, lesson plans, handouts, reading assignments, practical exercises, summaries for teaching points, 2 pages of handwritten notes, and over 50 pages of corrections.

Carrie Radnik of Montrose, Alabama, served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II.

The Ramsey family was a prominent family of the slave-owning class with a mansion home in Mecklenburg, Tennessee during the Civil War era.

The Ramsey Family Papers date from 1797 to 1891 and consist chiefly of correspondence, along with autobiographical and genealogical notes and a small photograph of Sue Ramsey.

This collection contains Lydia Rawlins' manuscript diary, accompanied by two letters written to Lydia Rawlins. Lydia Rawlins was a schoolteacher and daughter of a preacher who lived in Manila, Indiana. When the diary begins she is teaching in Addison, Township in Shelby County, Indiana. Lydia was very religious and held anti-slavery views. Her diary covers the tension within her church regarding the issue of slavery and how the issue affected her faith.

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Ray of Winnsboro, Texas, served as an officer in the United States Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), Women's Army Corps (WAC), and Women in the Air Force (WAF). Ray served as both deputy director and director of WAF. Her service career lasted from 1942 till 1964.

This collection consists of various personal papers relating to Anna J. Reardon, a physics instructor and head of the physics department at the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNC Greensboro). It includes course materials for aviation, photography, and various physics classes. Also included are film negatives, a handbook of chemistry and physics, a Mamiya C3 camera, and photography materials and equipment.

Winifred Reid, Rebekah McClain Stroupe, and Eulalie Elliott Reid all attended UNCG in its earlier incarnations, the State Normal and Industrial School and the North Carolina College for Women. This collection includes a 1988 letter from Winifred Reid, a 1919 letter from Stroupe, and a 1928 letter from Reid, sharing their memories of the school.

Thomas Mayne Reid (1818-1883) was an Irish-born novelist who lived and wrote in the United States and England. This collection dates from approximately 1866 and includes an original holograph manuscript for Chapter 3, "The Galatea," of Reid's novel Afloat in the Forest, as well as related correspondence.

The Director of Religious Activities was responsible for providing and organizing inclusive religious activities on the campus of what is now UNCG. This record group is comprised of correspondence, programs, schedules, minutes, and handbooks which date from 1932-1964.

The Department of Religious Studies was created in 1971 and began offering a Bachelors of Arts degree in religious studies in 1975.

The records of the Department of Religious Studies contains annual reports, announcements, brochures, course catalogs, flyers, an archive of the department's website, and other material which document the activities of the Department from 1971-2015.

Maria Rendleman was a teacher in North Carolina in the nineteenth century. This collection includes a contract (signed March 26, 1858) to teach at the Public School House of District Number 25 in Rowan County for a term of three months.

The Retention Task Force was created by Chancellor Sullivan to: (1) identify high-risk experiences for first-year students, (2) evaluate existing retention programs to determine their effectiveness, (3) study releveant data, and (4) make recommendations for improvements.

The Reviewers Club was established in Greensboro, North Carolina, in January 1895, for the purpose of mutual improvement and the promotion of closer fellowship. The oprganization meets monthly from May through October to discuss various topics of literary, historical and social significance.

Myrtle Rhoden (1921-2005) of New York City, served in the United States Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) and the Women's Army Corp (WAC) from 1941 to 1945. She was part of the all African-American 6888th Central Postal Battalion.

Twenty-three sheet music scores collected by Sallie Ridley and Mary T. Ridley.

Photograph album includes over 250 photographs taken by Riedel during her Army Nurse Corps service. Included are images of soldiers and nurses at Fort Des Moines, Iowa and images of nurses, patients, buildings and wards at Camp Kerhuon, France. There are also photographs taken during her travels around France and Italy and of Riedel's return voyage back to the United States. There are also approxiamately 80 commercial photographs of France during the war.
