Biographical / Historical

Barbara Robertson was born July 25th, 1992 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She spent her childhood in Italy with her mother before moving back to Massachusetts to live with her uncle during high school.

Right after graduating high school she joined the Marine Corps in June 2011. Robertson did her basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina and her School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. She was next sent to Twentynine Palms California for wireman training. Robertson was then stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as a part of the 8th Communications Battalion. She arrived there in April 2012 and was then deployed to Afghanistan about a year later in May 2013. In Afghanistan, Robertson was stationed at Camp Bastion where she worked with communications as a wireman.

After being in Afghanistan for a few months, Robertson’s unit returns to Camp Lejeune in December 2013 and then is deployed to Morocco in 2015. She was in Morocco for two months to help train the Moroccan army with communications and tech support of the pilots stationed there.

When she returned to the states she was stationed in Miramar, San Diego where she was a part of the Marine Wing Communication Squadron and provided air support for the pilots. In March 2016 Robertson was deployed to Isa Air Base in Bahrain and also to Kuwait. She was there for a few months for air support and then came back to Miramar, San Diego. She stayed there for two years before leaving the Marnie Corps in December 2018.
