Edward Jacob Forney (1860-1948) was a leader in public education in North Carolina.

The Edward Jacob Forney Papers date from 1902 to 1957 and contain correspondence, financial documents, clippings, photographs, scrapbook material and biographical information.

Edna Annette Forney attended the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College (now UNCG) from 1903 to 1908.

The scrapbook is annotated throughout with black ink. The book contains newspaper clippings, a handwritten history of the College, autographs and programs.

Thelma Houpe Foster (1917-2010) served in the United States Women's Army Corps during World War II.

The mission of Foundation Finance is to record, report, and safeguard the fiscal assets of six entities that are related to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In carrying out this mission, Foundation Finance performs the accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting and investment directives of the entities.

June 2023 oral history interview and transcript

Organized in 1898 and federated in 1902, the Friday Afternoon Club gathers for lectures and joint intellectual scholarship. According to a history of the club prepared by several members in 1979, the founding members were integral in establishing the Greensboro Public Library.

The collection serves to record the activities of the club and its members by means of meeting minutes, yearbooks/programs and various other materials.

McDermott; various photographs of Froome's Army Nurse Corps service, 1942-1945.

Letters and postcards from Arline Furstman to an acquaintance in Jamaica, Long Island, chiefly document Furstman's service with the WAVES in 1944 and 1945. Letters detail her duties in the military; off-duty activities; reactions to VJ Day in August 1945; entertainment; and the 1945 plane crash into the Empire State Building.

Ruth Gaddy (1918-2014) of Charlotte, North Carolina, served in the United States WAAC (Women's Army Auxiliary Corps) and WAC (Women's Army Corps) during WWII. She was part of the all African-American 6888th Central Postal Battalion.

Sydney Gallegos (b. 1997), of Fort Smith, Arkansas, served in the United States Marine Corps from 2015-2021.

Alma Garlow was a a 1934 graduate of Woman's College (now UNCG), a doll collector and a member of the National Institute of American Doll Artists. The set of dolls in this collection, entitled An American Family, 1630-1900, was carved from horse chestnut wood by Helen Bullard.

Caroline Morrison Garrett was a student at the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro) from 1940-1944. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics.

The collection contains correspondence, journals, scrapbooks, and records from Garrett's years attending the Woman's College (now UNCG).

Mary Virginia Gaver worked as a professional librarian in secondary schools, universities and the private sector for four decades, and also served as president of the Association of School Librarians (1959-1960) and president of the American Library Association (1966-1967).

The Mary Virginia Gaver Papers date from 1945 to 1979 and contain correspondence, manuscripts, books, journal articles, audio tapes, newsletters and sound recordings.

The documents in the "Reference" collection tend to pertain to events held by UNCG in the past, Alumnae/i, and the general happenings of the University over time. Claudia Butler Geniton (b. 1953), of Atlanta, Georgia served in the United States Women's Army Corps (WAC) and United States Army from 1971 to 1983 on active duty, and the United States Army Reserve from 1983 to 1994, serving during both the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War. This collection includes March 2011 oral history transcript; photographs; a newspaper clipping about Geniton and a green class A dress uniform jacket.

Esther Gilbert of Norwich, Connecticut, served as a staff assistant with the American Red Cross in the Pacific Theater of World War II from July 1944 to March 1946.

This extensive scrapbook depicts Gilbert's service in the Pacific Theater of World War II through photos with detailed captions as well as maps, tourism guides, news clippings, and other mementos from the various places in which Gilbert served, including Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan.
