It is a brief but brilliant and virtuosic work, the theme with two variations before transitioning into the Rondo. Orchestration is flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in A, 2 bassoons, 2 horns in F, 2 trumpets in A (B-flat parts included), 3 trombones, timpani and strings.
