Scope and Contents
With Company K on the BORDER 1916-1917 is the title of the scrapbook. It contains typed pages with details about when the company was founded, the locations of their annual encampments, and a roster of the men in the company. The scrapbook contains handwritten labels below the photographs.

Biographical or Historical Information
Company K, Third Infantry of the National Guard, based in Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina, was stationed in El Paso, Texas from 1916-1917. Company K, Third Infantry, was formed on November 9, 1911. The company's first public appearance was on July 4, 1912. Their first annual encampment was from July 5-15, 1912, in Anniston, Alabama. On June 19th, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson called the company into service and they were stationed at El Paso, Texas from 1916 to 1917.
