Abstract The Carolina Theatre opened on October 31, 1927, as a 2,200-seat vaudeville theater. Originally billed as "The Showplace of the Carolinas," the Carolina Theatre was considered to be the finest theater between Washington D.C. and Atlanta.The Theatre was part of the Keith Vaudeville chain, and early programs included live performing acts, the Carolina Theatre Orchestra, the Carolina News newsreel, an audience sing-along, and a silent film accompanied by the Robert Morton theatre...

Abstract

The Livestock Players and Greensboro Youtheatre are part of the City Arts Program of the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. The scrapbooks and photographs were donated by Carole Lehman Lindsey-Potter, founder of the City Arts Program of the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department.

Abstract

Though the Department of Theatre was officially established in 2000, theatre and drama have been a part of UNCG since its inception. Since then, the department has grown up to 300 students. This collection includes 57 boxes of material, focusing mainly on the productions and plays of the UNCG Theatre Department, as well as the Pixie Theatre for Young People.
