Lancaster, Jim M, 1991 January 24
Scope and Contents
Lancaster describes the transition from a women's college to a coeducational institution, the increase of international, commuter and part-time students and lost school traditions such as Rat Day, Jacket Day, and class rings. He discusses dynamics between men and women and residential and commuter students on student government, the increased number of males in leadership roles and the change from social to academic significance in the honor policy. He describes the university's move to provide more campus unity, the identification students feel with their departments and organizations and administrators and faculty as role models versus mentors.
