Nina M. Greenlee (1907-2004) of Old Fort, North Carolina, served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1943 to 1948 and then taught school at overseas bases for the Department of Defense for seventeen years.

Nina M. Greenlee was born in Old Fort, North Carolina, and attended Marion High School. She graduated from the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro) in 1930 with an English degree. After graduation, she taught English and history in McDowell County, North Carolina.

Greenlee joined the Women's Army Corps (WAC) in June 1943. She went through basic training at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. After training she was sent to Sul Ross State College in Alpine, Texas, for administration school. She was then assigned to Camp Davis, North Carolina, and then Fort Bragg. In both places she worked in the finance office. In 1946 she was transferred to Caserta, Italy, for six months and then to Leghorn, Italy, for six months. She was transferred to Fort Jay, New York, and discharged in 1948. After the war, Greenlee worked for a year as a teacher and then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and worked as a secretary for a farming equipment company. For the next seventeen years, she served as an elementary teacher at American military bases in the Azores Islands, England, and Spain, for Department of Defense schools. Nina Greenlee passed away in January 2004.
