Biographical / Historical
Pearl Myrtle Wasem (1920-2004). Wasem, of Fayetteville, Illinois, served in the U.S. Coast Guard SPARs from 1943-1945. Pearl enlisted on 25 June 1943 and did her boot camp training at Palm Beach, Florida. She spent the remainder of her service as a yeoman and photographer's mate at the U.S. Coast Guard 17th District in San Francisco, California until she was discharged on 28 December 1945.
