Content Description
Correspondence, notebooks, clippings, publications, photographs, and mementos related to Oehler's time as a student at Woman's College (now UNCG) in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and as an active alumna of the graduating class of 1951. Upon her graduation, Oehler worked in the Alumni Office.
This collection includes Tempe Anne Hughes Oehler's correspondence, schoolwork, paperwork and other assorted materials relating to her time enrolled within the Women's College and working for the Alumnae office and newspaper.

Abstract
Tempe Anne Hughes Oehler(1931-2021) was a lifelong supporter of UNCG, having graduated in 1951, when it was still the Women's College. In the years following her graduation, she contributed greatly as an alumna, raising funds for the college and serving on the Alumnae News editorial board.
This collection contains correspondence, photos, schoolwork, pamphlets and other assorted materials throughout Mrs. Oehler's life and work for the university.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Papers transferred from Alumni House and were donated by Cindy Jelen, daughter of Oehler and UNCG alumna (Class of 1980) September 2022.
Condition Description
Overall stable, though there is evidence of insect damage on a few papers, rusty staples and paperclips throughout, and deteriorating newspaper clippings.
Update 7/23 - Rusty staples and paperclips have been removed.
