Cheryl Sizer was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, but spent the majority of her childhood and adolescence in Lafayette, Louisiana. Towards the end of her twenty years in the air force, Sizer was the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) for the United States Air Force Band's specialty ensemble Academy Winds, as well as for the concert band. After leaving the air force, Sizer and her family moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina and worked at a hospice facility.
