Content Description

Diary of Louise Vann during her senior year, 1947-1948, at Woman's College (now UNCG). Louise wrote about her daily activities, her dating life, school activities, and about friends and family. She also described her experience as a summer counselor at Camp Farwell (founded in 1889), perhaps the longest running camp for girls in the United States.

Biographical / Historical

Louise Vann Tronnes (1925-2014), was a student at Woman's College (now UNCG) and graduated in 1948. Louise was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. She first attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia before transferring to Woman's College. She received a BA degree in Interior Design and worked at Alderman Studios in High Point, North Carolina. Louise married Erl Tronnes in 1956 and the couple had three children. In addition to raising her family, Louise was active as a docent for Reynolda House Museum of American Art.
