Letters, 1919 April-June
Scope and Contents
Letters to family and friends chiefly document Anne Huheey's service with the American Expeditionary Forces in the spring of 1919. Repeated themes include news of family and friends, both those at home and other nurses serving overseas; the weather; various illnesses; and diversions such as horseback riding and tennis. Hospital wards and patients are occasionally mentioned.
Also included are letters from friends serving overseas. Letters from her female friends describe a dance; serving hot chocolate to the men; and a delousing plant. Letters from her male friends discuss the hardships of war; sparse living conditions; and war news.
