Scope and Contents
Letters to her family in West Covington, Kentucky, and several photographs document Lauretta Webster Wilkin's service in the WAAC and WAC during World War II. Subjects include basic training; WAAC parades; uniforms and equipment; her work in the army's drafting department; the transition from the WAAC to the WAC in 1943; war news; family affairs; and social life and recreation, including her softball team, parties, visits with friends, and her courtship and marriage to George Wilkin. Photographs are of individual and groups of WACs in uniform.
