Most of the sixteen letters are concerned with family and personal matters. Eleven of them were written from New York while Bond was at Columbia and include descriptions of New York and Philadelphia. In a letter written from the State Normal and Industrial School in 1902 she mentions J.Y. Joyner leaving to become Superintendent of Public Instruction. The correspondence includes a letter to Bond from Virginia Brown Douglas, which mentions their European trip accompanied by Miss Petty and Miss Fort of the State Normal and Industrial College.
