Scope and Contents
Notebook One is titled, Composition Book, with an annotated title reading, English Notes. The Notebook contains writings on William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, including character analyses, plot evaluation, and notes regarding European history. Notebook Two is titled, Laboratory Manual of General Chemistry, with an annotated title reading, Olive Allen, Lab I. The Notebook contains text under the headings, Apparatus for Each Locker, Apparatus for General Use, Chemicals: Estimates for a Class of Twenty, Rules and Suggestions for the Laboratory, Model for taking Notes, Abbreviations, Table of Elements, Symbols and Names, Solutions for Reagents and Analysis, and Index of Experiments. Allen's notations begin with Experiment # 4 and continue with a few gaps throughout. Some of the notations appear to be graded and critiqued by an instructor.
