Bobby Grimes and Betty Moore
Scope and Contents
The Lillian M. "Jerry" Evans Adams Collection dates from 1920 to 1998 and contains photographs, a VHS videotape, and a trumpet. Most of the photographs in the collection are of Mrs. Adams, other band members, and the band managers, and were taken during their travels throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Some of the individual and group photos were taken as publicity shots. One oversized group photograph of The Parisian Redheads is autographed by each of the band members.
Also included in the collection is a fifteen minute videotaped interview with Lillian Adams, recorded May 10, 1998 in St. Petersburg, Florida. During the interview, which was probably recorded by a family member, Adams recounts her musical training, her experiences in various bands, and the acquisition of her King trumpet (also included in this collection).
