This collection documents the writing and teaching career of Angela Davis-Gardner from 1963 through 2012. Included are Davis-Gardner's early writings and story ideas as well as material pertaining to her college career and time as a faculty member at North Carolina State University. The bulk of the material relates to Davis-Gardner's four published novels, Felice (1981), Forms of Shelter (1991), Plum Wine (2006), and Butterfly's Child (2011). The collection contains research notes, planning materials, and drafts for each of Davis-Gardner's major works as well as related correspondence, press materials, and book reviews collected by the author.
