Burgess discusses working under Chancellors Blackwell, Singletary, Ferguson and Moran as well as Mereb Mossman and Stanley Jones, vice chancellors for academic affairs. She talks about the changes in the power of the faculty, student quality and the sociology department. Biographical Note
M. Elaine Burgess (1925- ) came to Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro) in 1960 as assistant professor in the Department of Sociology. She retired in 1990 from the University as full professor.
