Ethel Newton Diaries, 1900 - 1902
Scope and Contents
These journals conain a fairly detailed account of the daily activities of a young teenager living in rural Ohio just after the turn of the twentieth century. She writes of her family's activities during the day, often mentioning her parents and sister.
Day to day activities for the young sisters included chores such as sewing and cleaning, but a good part of their day was also spent studying and reading.
