This scrapbook, created by representatives of the Residential Design class in the Department of Art at Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro), documents the 1958 Commencement Home project. The scrapbook contains house and lot data, a project description, a description of materials, room finish schedules, and materials relating to the official opening, including newspaper clippings and a news release. There are photographs of the Residential Design classroom, interiors and exterior of the Commencement House during construction, the filming of a television program regarding the house, the groundbreaking, and the official opening. Associated with this scrapbook is a corresponding portfolio (UA111.105.2) containing nine Commencement House blueprints.
