Abstract Roberta Woodell House (1915-?) and Nancy Wooddell Thornton (1916-2002) were sisters who served in the United States Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC)/Women's Army Corps (WAC) and in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. Roberta enlisted with the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) on 24 July 1942, and ended her career as a WAC captain with the Army Corps of Engineers. Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection consists primarily of military and miscellaneous documents from 1942-1946; there are also twenty-one photos of Trembath, her nursing colleagues, hospital buildings, and waterfalls. There is one handwritten, unsigned letter from the Western Marine Railway company, asking for a travel refund.
