Abstract Roberta Woodell House (1915-?) and Nancy Wooddell Thornton (1916-2002) were sisters who served in the United States Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC)/Women's Army Corps (WAC) and in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. Roberta enlisted with the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) on 24 July 1942, and ended her career as a WAC captain with the Army Corps of Engineers. Nancy was a nurse with the rank of 1st Lieutenant who joined in 1941; her approximate discharge year is 1944....
