Abstract

The Cornelian Literary Society was one of two original literary societies founded in 1893. In 1953 the Societies were formally disbanded with the approval of the presidents. This collection consists of four bound volumes containing the Cornelian Literary Society's constitution, membership roll, and meeting minutes from 1893 until 1925.

Abstract Charles Duncan McIver was born on September 27, 1860 in Moore County, North Carolina. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1881 and began teaching in Durham and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
