Sally Ann Weeks Benson Collection
Sally Ann Weeks Benson (b. 1947), from Aiken, South Carolina, served as an officer in the United States Navy from July of 1981 to August of 2002.
Included in this collection are a 2015 oral history interview, military papers, correspondence, photographs, artifacts, uniforms, and other textiles. Much of the material in the collection focuses on her postings in Meridian, Mississippi and Sasebo, Japan.
Adeline Sears LaPlante Collection
Adeline Sears LaPlante (1919-2006) of Easton, Pennsylvania, served as a recruiter and as a public relations officer in the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) and the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1942-1945.
This collection includes letters, postcards and Christmas cards from LaPlante to her parents about her career in the WAAC and the WAC from 1943-1944. The collection also contains a photograph album, and news clippings from LaPlante's time in the service.
