Kathryn Stripling Byer Papers
Kathryn Stripling Byer, typically referred to as Kay, was the first woman and fifth overall North Carolina Poet Laureate, from 2005-09. This collection consists of a large amount of Kathryn's poems. Many of these poems are drafts, hand-written or annotated versions of the poem. Included in this collection are 8 of Kathryn's publications (books and chapbooks), however these pieces are found in folders as individual papers.
Jean Farley Manuscripts
Jean Farley (1928-1974) was a poet and a 1950 alumna of Woman's College (now UNCG).
This collection includes draft copies of Farley's book of poems, Figure and Field, and a number of additional poems.
Eleanor Ross Taylor Papers
Eleanor Ross Taylor is a 1940 alumna of Woman's College (now UNCG) and an award-winning poet. The Eleanor Ross Taylor Papers date from the 1970s and include correspondence and draft and manuscript copies of poems.
