Biographical / Historical

Sherry Lynn Dodson Womack (b. 1963), of Rockingham County, North Carolina, served in the United States Army from 1981-2004.

In 2002, she was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan as a Combat Zone Triage Officer/ Special Forces Medical Liaison with 101st Airborne Air Assault Division. From 2007-2009, she was Deputy Commander of Clinical Services with the 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion in Ballad, Iraq.

She retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and earned both the Legion of Merit
