Biographical / Historical
Marie Cody (1921-2002), of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served as a codebreaker in the United States Navy WAVES during from November 1942-July 1946. Marie Cody was stationed in Washington, D.C., and California At that time, she was engaged to pilot Larry Downey, who went missing in action. Cody later began a relationship with Larry's brother Donald through correspondence. After the war she married Air Force pilot Miles McCormack. She died in Colorado in 2002.
