Kate Barrett (1935- ) spent several decades as a professor and award-winning leader in the field of physical education. She is still active on the UNCG Board of Trustees and was responsible for securing many of the physical education and dance collections in the UNCG archives. The Kate Barrett Collection dates from 1911 to 1963 and contains manuscript notes, a book, and 17 pieces of dance music.

Joyce Boorman was an award winning pioneer in children's dance education. The Joyce Boorman Papers date from 1968 to 1983 and contain papers, brochures, memoranda, correspondence, reel-to-reel tapes and videotapes.

The Department of Dance collection contains files created and gathered by the department, which documents the department’s operations. This includes concert materials, correspondence, syllabi, conference materials, newspaper clippings, and reports.

This collection consists of dance and music theses submitted to the UNCG Graduate School for the Master of Fine Arts degree from 1951-1978. The collection includes choreography, musical scores, and costume depictions.

Sara Lou Debnam of Warrenton, Virginia, attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNCG) from 1947 to 1950.

The scrapbook, annotated throughout in white ink, contains photographs, cards, programs, telegraphs and letters.

Edythe Ellis of Wilmington, North Carolina, attended Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNCG) and graduated in 1935 with a B.S. in Secretarial Administration.

The Scrapbook is annotated with black ink throughout and contains postcards, letters, newspaper clippings, booklets, invitations and ribbons.

Ruth St. Denis (1880-1968) was one of the founders of the Denishawn School of Dance; Howle Fisher was a former member of the Denishawn Dancers. This collection dates from 1924 to 1933 and contains notation and choreography for performing dances of the Denishawn School.

Gladys Andrews Fleming was a professor of physical education and a leader in the field of movement education. The Gladys Andrews Fleming Papers date from 1939 to 1983 and contain conference and workshop materials, correspondence, publications, educational documents, biographical materials, honors and awards.

Jean Knapp Marsh was a leader in the field of physical education and dance. The Jean Knapp Marsh Papers date from approximately the 1920s to 1992 and include teaching materials, sheet music, typescript and manuscript music, a scrapbook of dance/costume materials, and photographs.

William Edward Moran (1932- ) served as chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1979-1994.

The William Edward Moran Records date from 1979 to 1994 and contain correspondence, minutes, working papers, reports, photographs and other materials which document his tenure at the university, campus events and activities druing the period, and his interactions with the community as well as with state and federal authorities.

Ruth L. Murray is considered a pioneer in the field of dance education. The Ruth L. Murray Papers date from 1933 to 1985 and contain minutes, correspondence, speeches, teaching material, news clippings, brochures, and conference papers.

The collection includes an oral history transcript, 22 November 1999; a booklet titled "Three Years of Change," 1942-1945; various programs and invitations, 1944; various military records including Certificate of Service, 1946; a copy of WAAC Parodies, undated; 13 photographs of Palma while stationed in New Guinea and Australia, 1943-1945; several newspaper clippings featuring Palma, 1943, 1988, and undated.

The Recreation Association was a student organization created in 1941 for the purpose of overseeing athletic completion and recreational activities on campus.

This collection consists of correspondence, flyers, manuals, minutes, programs, and reports which document the organizations involvement with intermural sports and recreational activities from 1925-1977.

Mary Dell Rudd graduated from Curry High School, Greensboro, in 1936. This collection dates from 1925 to 1936 and contains correspondence, greeting cards, two scrapbooks, school programs, dance cards, photographs and other ephemera.

Dr. Jeannette Saurborn taught physical education in public elementary schools in Michigan and New York. This collection contains notes, correspondence, clippings and educational materials related to physical education for children.

This collection contains the administrative records of the Dean of the School of Music, Dance, and Theatre. Included are correspondence, memoranda, committee records, annual reports, and other records that document the activities of the Dean.

Ruth St. Denis (1879-1968) was a dancer, choreographer and teacher, and one of the founders of the Denishawn School of Dance. This collection consists of an audio tape and transcript of a lecture given by Ruth St. Denis at California State University at Los Angeles, May 22, 1964. Topics discussed include her philosophy of dance and famous dancers with whom she had worked.

The Woman's College Major Students' Association club was chartered by the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation in March 1961. The collection contains constitutions, correspondence, working papers, meeting minutes, and other materials related to the organzation.

Virginia Tanner (1915-1979) was a pioneer in children's dance education. The Virginia Tanner Papers date from 1945 to 1979 and contain flyers, brochures, teaching notes, student papers, workshop materials, correspondence, photographs, motion picture films and videotapes.
