African American and African Diaspora Studies Program Records
This collection contains brochures, course listings, event flyers, newsletters and other records related to the African American and African Diaspora Studies Program at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Also included are event programs from the Conference on African-American Culture and Experience (CACE), sponsored yearly by the program.
Department of Anthropology Records
The Department of Anthropology was established in 1974. Prior to its creation, it was part of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
The records of the Department of Anthropology contain annual reports, brochures, flyers, laboratory manuals, meeting minutes, newsletters, self study reports, and other material which document the activities of the Department from 1966-2007.

Department of Biology Records
The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Science was initially part of the Department of Science in 1892. It became its own Department of Biology in 1905. It is responsible for the University's undergraduate and graduate curricula in biology.

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Records
The Department of Chemistry began in the early 1900s and changed its name in 1999 to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Today the Department is responsible for the undergraduate and graduate curriculum in chemistry and biochemistry.
The records of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry contain announcements, annual reports, brochures, manuals, newsletters, and reports which document the activities of the Department from 1966-2004.
Department of Classical Studies Records
The Department of Classical Studies has undergone several name changes since it was first established as the Department of Ancient and Modern Languages in 1892. In 1935 it changed names to the Department of Classical Civilization and later in 1986 became the Department of Classical Studies. Its mission is to serve the educational interests of undergraduate and master's level students by preserving, transmitting and interpreting the achievements of the Classical World.

The Department of English was created in 1893 after splitting from the Department of History. Today the department is responsible for the University's undergraduate and graduate curricula in English.

Department of History Records
The Department of History was one of the first departments on the UNCG campus. It has continued to grow and develop over the past decades by adding a M.A. and Ph. D. program as well as introducing new courses and hiring expert professors.
The records of the History Department include reports, letters, books, newsletters, and an archive of the department's website documenting the activity of the History Department from 1920-2015.
International and Global Studies Program
This collection contains the annual reports of the Latin American Studies Program and an archive of the department's website.

The Mathematics Department was created in 1891 but has been known as the Department of Mathematics and Statistics since 2006.

The Department of Media Studies formed out of the Department of Broadcasting Cinema and Theatre after 2000.
This record group is comprised of self study and accreditation documents related to the Broadcasting Cinema and Theatre Department, ranging in date from 1993-2000, as well as an archive of the department's website.

The Department of Philosophy was created in 1935; however it would not develop into a successfully functioning department until 1949 with the arrival of Warren Ashby. Today the Department is responsible for the undergraduate curriculum in philosophy.

Political science was first offered as a major in 1959, however, the Department of Political Science was not established until 1970. Today the Department is responsible for the undergraduate and graduate curriculum in political science.

Department of Psychology Records
The Department of Psychology developed out of the Curry School of Education in the 1920s under the leadership of James A. Highsmith. It has continued to develop over the last century and now includes a M.A. and Ph.D program.

The Department of Religious Studies was created in 1971 and began offering a Bachelors of Arts degree in religious studies in 1975.

The Department of Romance Languages was created in 1916 with the merging of the Spanish and French curriculums. Today, the Department includes the languages of French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

Department of Theatre Records
Though the Department of Theatre was officially established in 2000, theatre and drama have been a part of UNCG since its inception. Since then, the department has grown up to 300 students. This collection includes 57 boxes of material, focusing mainly on the productions and plays of the UNCG Theatre Department, as well as the Pixie Theatre for Young People.
Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program Records
The Women's and Gender Studies Program at UNCG is one of the oldest in the country and is an interdisciplinary program founded in 1972.
