From the Collection:
Manuscript teaching contract dated March 26, 1858 made with Maria Rendleman, who agreed to teach at the Public School House of District No. 25 Rowan County, North Carolina, for the term of three months. Included are the names of five subscribers who agree to pay Miss Rendleman seventy-five cents per scholar per month. Miss Rendleman agreed to teach Orthography, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, History, Grammar and Geography.
