Diary of an unknown woman living with husband and mother-in-law near Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. Entries indicate author was a middle agd, middle class woman. Entries describe socialization, household cleaning, baking, cooking, sewing, church attendance, letter writing to relatives, reading and books, visits to the Springfield theater and opera house, and attendance at public lectures. The diary also describes travels to New Jersey, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and Illinois to visit relatives and go sight-seeing.
