Scope and Contents

This scrapbook, created by student members of the Young Women’s Christian Association, contains materials relating to the 1935-1936 school year at Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). The scrapbook contains a booklet titled “Blue Back Primer for Bright Budding Beginners," which includes lyrics for the College Song, the Old North State Song, the Y Song, the Class Song of 1934, and tips for freshmen students. The scrapbook also includes pledge cards, programs for the Lantern Festival and worship services, an Emergency Peace Campaign brochure, a Southern Peace-Action Movement booklet, "Y’s and Other Y’s" newsletter, “Peace Agent” newsletter, “Read or Peace” placard, photographs of groups and individuals, and a newspaper clipping relating to peace and the anti-war movementt
