[War Service League Scrapbook, Volume 1], 1941 - 1944
Scope and Contents
This scrapbook, created by representatives of the War Service League, contains materials relating to the 1941-1944 school years at Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Items in the scrapbook include an outline of student faculty conferences held in September 1943, minutes of the War Service League, newspaper clippings regarding efforts of the War Service League, an article on the Red Cross, a War Stamp Pledge card, correspondence related to volunteer responsibilities, bandage rolling, and campus service league activities; and letters from the Treasury Department War Savings Staff regarding fundraising and Student Minute Man flag. Also included are reports to Woman’s College president Frank Graham and Dean Walter Clinton Jackson regarding the activities and contributions of the War Service League, as well as a revised report presented at the Pre-School Conference by the committee on contribution to the war.
