Abstract
Claudette Burroughs-White, born Treva Claudette Graves, was a Greensboro city councilwoman from 1995 until 2004. She had previously served as a probation officer and supervisor in Guilford County's domestic and juvenile courts. An alumna of Woman's College, Burroughs-White began her studies in 1957, the second year that African-American women were admitted as students, and graduated in the class of 1961.
