Biography
Nell Johnson attended the North Carolina College for Women (now UNC Greensboro) from 1925-1928. Johnson, originally from Kipling, N.C., received a B.S. in Home Economics. She later attended Johns Hopkins University for graduate school.
She was a member of the Cornelian Society, A.A., the Chemistry Club, Spanish Club, Home Economics Club, Education Club, hockey team, soccer team, baseball team, basketball team, and gymnastic team.
Johnson later married Thomas Leon Lanier and had one son, Thomas Leon Lanier, Jr. She passed away on July 30, 2006, in Newport News, Virginia. Full obituary can be found at https://legcy.co/30phOdJ.
