Scope and Contents The bulk of this collection consists of letters dated 1944-1945 from Lt. Judith C. Bennett to her family in Corsicana, Texas, while she was stationed in New Guinea with the Women's Army Corps. Abstract Westray Battle Boyce (1901 - 1972), of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, served as part of the Women's Auxiliary Army Corp (WAAC) and Women's Army Corp (WAC) from 1942 to 1947. She served under General Eisenhower in North Africa and is the first woman to have received the Legion of Merit medal.
