Abstract James Sharbrough Ferguson came to the Woman's College (now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro or UNCG) in 1962 as Dean of the Graduate School. He served as acting Chancellor at UNCG during the two leaves of absence of Chancellor Otis A. Singletary (1964-1965 and 1966-1967). On January 9, 1967, he was appointed Chancellor and served continuously until July 31, 1979. Julius Isaac Foust Records

Abstract This collection contains the personal papers and official records of Julius Isaac Foust (1865-1946), second president of the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College now known as The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Taking up leadership of the school after the untimely death of founding president Charles Duncan McIver in 1906, Foust became the acting president for the year following his colleague's death. Foust served as the official president until his retirement in 1934.
